This 120-hour pre-apprenticeship program that can lead to an opportunity to apply to the registered apprenticeship program. LiUNA jobs can’t be outsourced to another country, pays a livable wage, offer health insurance benefits and retirement plans, as well as, provide opportunities to grow within the industry. Experience in construction is not needed, but the desire to learn and work hard is a requirement. As a LiUNA pre-apprenticeship participant, you will be exposed to both residential and commercial construction methods ranging from the many aspects of home building and energy efficiency to heavy-highway and building construction of schools, municipal buildings, bridges, roads and tunnels, environmental mitigation and remediation, hazardous material removal, pipeline infrastructure, and the latest technologies in green construction. In addition, you’ll receive an OSHA-10 certification and CPR/First Aid card. Once you have completed this pre-apprenticeship program you will be eligible to apply for the Construction Craft Laborer apprenticeship program, “earn-as-you-learn”, and begin your career path as a skilled, Construction Craft Laborer.
