Community Services General Information & Registration
Our offerings are presented for your enjoyment and enrichment; college credit is not awarded for Community Services offerings. Topics and instructors do not necessarily reflect the views of the Merced College Board of Trustees or administration. The College does not necessarily endorse any person or product. Merced College reserves the right to change offerings, trips or instructors. Please note: if you are registering a child age 18 and under, Community Services must receive the signed waiver form before the child will be allowed to participate.
5 Ways to Register
- In person: We are located in downtown Merced at the Merced College Business Resource Center. Our address is 630 W. 19th St. (corner of 19th & M). We are open Monday through Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm.
- By mail: Send your completed registration form to: Merced College Community Services, 3600 M Street, Stop 51, Merced, 95348. Enclose one completed registration form per person. You may send a stamped, self-addressed envelope to receive your receipt.
- By phone: Use your Visa or MasterCard to register during office hours at (209) 384-6224.
- By fax: Fax the completed registration form with your Visa or MasterCard information to (209) 386-6793, 24 hours a day.
- Online: You can register here on the Community Services website by clicking on the "courses" option. Please remember to read the refund policy before proceeding. If you have any questions, email us.
Where can I buy tickets?
The Merced College Box Office, located in front of the Merced College Theater, is open for ticket sales one hour prior to scheduled performances. Call (209) 386-6644 for questions about Box Office hours or ticket information.
Where do we meet and where do I park?
Unless otherwise stated, offerings are held on the Merced College Main Campus at 3600 M Street in Merced. Parking Permits are required any time you park on campus. Permits are available on a daily basis for $1 or you can purchase a semester pass in the Lesher Buiding at Student Fees for $20.
Can I register on the first day? Some offerings do not let you register on the same day. Please call the office at (209) 384-6224 to make sure you can still register on the same day or as a walk-in. Most offerings will allow walk-in registeration if space is available. We encourage you to register early as many offerings fill prior to the start date. Offerings with low enrollment may be canceled prior to the start date.
Community Services realizes that extenuating circumstances do arise. However, Community Services does not receive tax support. Your enrollments pay all costs of the program. In regard to this we have established the following policies:
Class Refund Policy - If you need to cancel an enrollment, please contact our office at least 7 days before the start date. You will be charged a $10 cancellation fee per person, per offering, except in cases where our office is responsible for the changes. If you need to cancel 7 days or less before the start date, you may write a letter of request to our Director, Becky Barabe, and these requests will be reviewed for a potential full or partial refund, based on your particular circumstance. Once an offering begins, we will not refund any portion of the fee.
Trip Refund Policy - If you need to cancel your trip, we need to have at least 30 days' notice before the departure date to receive a refund. You will be charged a $10 cancellation fee per person, per trip, except in cases where our office is responsible for the changes. If you cancel the trip after the 30 day deadline, refunds will not be given unless there is a replacement for you on the trip.
College for Kids Refund Policy - All College for Kids registrations are final and no refunds will be awarded unless an offering is cancelled by Merced College. There is a $10 per student, per occurence charge for student schedule changes at any time during the registration period for any reason. College for Kids reserves the right to change a student's schedule if he/she has been enrolled in an offering that is not consistent with appropriate grade level.
No refunds or exchanges are available for theater tickets.
Electronic vouchers may be issued when an offering or trip is cancelled by Community Services. Electronic vouchers are valid for anyone in your household for up to one year from the date of issue.
